Music Groups in Leeds
Most students who want to learn the violin enjoy playing with other student violinists. Iveta Hlavenkova organises many opportunities for students to play together, including music groups which are open to all violin students, not only those who are learning with Iveta.
Leeds Folk Fiddle Group
Iveta Hlavenkova is the leader of the Leeds Folk Fiddle Group, which plays Irish, Scottish and English traditional folk music, together with American country and other styles such as jazz, blues and ragtime.
New members are welcome based on an informal audition. Grade 1 violin and the ability to read are the minimum requirements. For more information, please see the Leeds Folk Fiddle Group web site.
Other opportunities to play with fellow student violinists are the regular workshops in fiddle and violin which Iveta Hlavenkova also organises in Leeds.
